Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal assured President Barack Obama Friday that the “Medieval Christian threat” is under control, and urged him to worry instead about the current threat of radical Islam.
“We will be happy to keep an eye out for runaway Christians, but it would be nice if [Obama] would face the reality of the situation today,” he said in a statement reported by the National Review. “The Medieval Christian threat is under control, Mr. President. Please deal with the Radical Islamic threat today.”
Jindal’s statement was in response to Obama’s comparison of Islamic State brutality to slavery and the Crusades, and his warning to Christians who take a stance against Islam not to get on a “high horse,” since those terrible deeds were committed in the name of Christ.
“It was nice of the president to give us a history lesson at the Prayer breakfast,” Jindal said in the statement. “Today, however, the issue right in front of his nose, in the here and now, is the terrorism of Radical Islam, the assassination of journalists, the beheading and burning alive of captives.”
Editor’s Note: While I applaud Jindal’s calls for the Muslim-in-Chief to deal with Islam, that will be hard to do since he is one of them. Second, there is no radical Islam, only Islam. Third, the only thing the Crusades threatened was the Islamic world.
