Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to the Internet to encourage Israeli voters to get out and vote, warning that “right wing governments” were in danger because liberals had allied with Arabs to change direction in Israel.
“The right-wing government is in danger. Arab voters are going en masse to the polls. Left-wing NGOs are bringing them on buses. We have no V15, we have order 8 [code for emergency IDF mobilization], we have only you. Get out to vote. Bring your friends and family. Vote Likud in order to close the gap between us and Labor. With your help and with God’s help.”
It should go without saying how dangerous for Israel (and for the free world) it would be if a left-wing government were to take the reins of power. Liberal appeasers are always pushing to weaken their own nations in the interest of peace, without realizing that throughout history that strategy has always failed! We all want peace, but the most long-lasting periods of peace have always been brought about through power.
The confidence of knowing that the Western nations are strong, that the USA, Israel and our other allies remain united and powerful would do more to effect peace on our planet than any concessions we could make to our enemies.
As the voting in Israel comes to a close, we in American can only pray that voters there have more sense than American voters did in 2008 and 2012.
Benjamin Netanyahu declared victory for his party, Likud, and his center-right coalition on Tuesday afternoon after a hard fought election.
This is a big victory for Netanyahu and Likud, who were thought to be all but finished after late polling showed they had fallen significantly behind. However, it seems that the poll numbers were wrong and Netanyahu was able to do enough in the end to draw voters back to the right.
