Former Pastor in Spotlight Again For Endorsing Sodomite Unions and Calling the Church to Follow Him

It should come as no surprise that Rob Bell has said something to stir things up in the Church. He has on several occasions made some pretty controversial stands. His statements on Hell have drawn a lot of attention from the Christian community. But now that he and his wife have written another book, he is at it again.

The Blaze has reported:

Former megachurch pastor Rob Bell told TV host Oprah Winfrey that he believes Christian churches will become even more irrelevant if they fail to embrace gay relationships and that he sees the Christian umbrella becoming more favorable of homosexuality in the very near future.

Now, it also should come to no one’s surprise that Bell is promoting his book in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. With Bell almost completely shunned by the Evangelical community, Oprah is theologically closer to Bell than anyone else.

The Blaze continues:

When Winfrey asked when the church will come on board with same-sex relationships, Bell, the former pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, Michigan, said that he believes that the time is “close” and that “we’re just moments away from the church accepting it,” according to the Christian Post.

The Christian Post further quotes Kristen as she reads from the couple’s new book on marriage.

“Marriage, gay and straight, is a gift to the world because the world needs more not less love, fidelity, commitment, devotion and sacrifice,” she noted.

And this is the issue. Who determines that what Kristen quotes is true? Is she or Rob given the authority to make such claims? And if they are, how can we know? You see this brings out a great point. If you and your emotions are your authority, then anything goes. We can claim that God is pleased with anything in the name of love. But it matters little what we claim. If God is not pleased with what people are doing and we tell them that He is, then we are lying about God. And this is exactly what the Bell’s do in this interview.

The Christian Post continues:

“I think culture is already there and the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh-and-blood people who are your brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles, and co-workers and neighbors, and they love each other and just want to go through life,” he said.

Like all who find themselves at odds with what God’s word says, they defame and ridicule. If you cannot get around what the Bible says, just minimize. The Bell’s prove that they have no problem with having the culture and their own flesh determine what is right. That means that these things are their god and authority. But again this is nothing new. Rob has said these kinds of things before. reported on March 20, 2013

“I am for marriage,” the best-selling author said Sunday at The Forum at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. “I am for fidelity. I am for love, whether it’s a man and a woman, a woman and a woman, a man and a man. I think the ship has sailed and I think that the church needs to just … this is the world that we are living in and we need to affirm people wherever they are.”

What Rob fails to understand is what God told Ezekiel. We are responsible to relay God’s words to those in sin. In Ezekiel 3:18 we read.

When I say to the wicked, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

Rob and Kristen are going to have the blood of the sodomite on their hands unless they repent and speak truth.
