Please Governor Huckabee – Don’t Campaign with Spite

The brilliant Iowa conservative and radio host, Steve Deace, had some incredibly insightful commentary to share with his friends on Facebook this past Monday. Deace called on his readers to harken back about eight years to the failing presidential campaign being run by Colorado Republican Tom Tancredo, and begged Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR) to learn the lesson of history and to stop his misguided attacks on Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). Here’s what Deace had to say: Eight years ago, Tom Tancredo Read more […]

The Debate You Didn’t See – The 2nd Tier Candidates on the Economy

On Tuesday during prime time you may have enjoyed the fireworks on Fox Business as the top tier of GOP presidential candidates took turns laying out their vision of America’s economic future. However, you may have missed the earlier debate featuring the lower polling GOP candidates, namely Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ), Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. That debate also had some good moments, particularly for Chris Christie and Bobby Jindal, and is well worth your Read more […]

Ted Cruz Shines at the North Texas Presidential Forum

This past weekend voters in Texas flocked to Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano to take part in the North Texas Presidential Forum. On hand were several of the leading GOP candidates for president, including Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. Donald Trump was notably absent, but he was invited to meet with the mostly evangelical crowd of interested voters. Ted Cruz (R-TX) had the home field advantage and it showed. The Senator from Texas Read more […]

Rick Santorum Argues for 20% Flat Tax on ALL Income

On Tuesday morning presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R-PA) appeared on Fox News with Bill Hemmer to discuss the Democrat debate and his own presidential campaign. The most interesting point that Santorum raised was on taxation, where he argued that we must replace our archaic “regressive” tax code with a simple 20% flat tax on all income. On Monday Santorum released on op-ed in the Wall Street Journal where he outlined his “20/20” Plan arguing for a 20% across the board flat tax Read more […]

Huckabee Comments Stir GOP Infighting

Mike Huckabee’s recent comments that President Obama’s Iran deal could lead to the deaths of many Israeli’s (said using Nazi-Holocaust imagery) has stirred outrage on the left and debate on the right. The GOP Presidential candidates have begun responding to his comments in very different manners. Rick Santorum was on Newsmax TV with Steve Malzberg defended Huckabee’s comments and his intended message. Steve Malzberg: “I’m Jewish, I’m a proud Jew and a zionist and I see nothing wrong with Read more […]

Is Your Candidate an “Iowa or Bust” Candidate or a “New Hampshire or Bust” Candidate?

This past Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press Chuck Todd divided all of the declared GOP candidates into three different groups; “Iowa or Bust,” “New Hampshire or Bust” or “Crossover.” In the New Hampshire column are the moderate candidates hoping to win in the Granite State and earn some momentum early. These candidates include Chris Christie (R-NJ), John Kasich (R-OH), George Pataki (R-NY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jeb Bush (R-FL). In the Iowa column are the conservative candidates who Read more […]

Donald Trump Announces that He Will be Making a Special Announcement

Oy. So, on Monday billionaire Donald Trump released a special media advisory memo announcing that he would be making a very special announcement from his Trump Tower on June 16th at 11am. The day is just two weeks away and the memo indicates that “the Donald” is planning to announce his plans concerning the Presidential race at the press conference.     While I happen to think that Donald Trump as a GOP candidate is kind of a joke and just another way for Mr. Trump to Read more […]

Rick Santorum is Running for President!

Rick Santorum is back and says he’s “ready” to do this all again. The former Senator from Pennsylvania and popular social conservative has decided that he has at least one more run for the White House in him. He did well in 2012, eventually finishing 2nd to the GOP nominee, Mitt Romney, and he apparently hopes that the momentum he earned in 2012 will carry over to 2016. That doesn’t appear likely however, because this time around there are several other social conservatives who Read more […]

NBC’s Chuck Todd says Rick Santorum Best Represents Republicans

But if you look at today’s Republican Party, who makes up of it, the rank and file. I think Rick Santorum better represents them than anybody else. Better represents this new working class Republican voter.              – Chuck Todd My assumption here is that Chuck Todd is speaking about the Republican Party as a whole – left to right, top to bottom, grassroots to establishment, conservative to RINO. I kind of get his point. Santorum is a social conservative, who happens to believe Read more […]
