President George W. Bush recently appeared on CNN with Candy Crowley, during the discussion the issues of Ferguson and of Eric Garner came up.
Crowley asked the former President what he thought after seeing the video of Eric Garner being killed on the streets of New York. President Bush replied that, “The verdict was hard to understand. I haven’t seen all the details, but it’s sad that race continues to play such an emotional, divisive part of life.”
President Bush also said that he believed that race relations have definitely improved over the last 30+ years. He even mentioned a recent conversation he had with former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, where she mentioned that the black community was losing trust in our law enforcement.
