While Obama Defends Terrorism Report – Other Democrats Decry it!

It looks like the Obama administration have found yet another way to split the Democrat Party. This time the issue is a just released CIA report on the method our intelligence community has used to gain intel from terrorists. While President Obama was defending releasing the damning report – other Democrats were angered and appalled at the Obama administration’s short sightedness…

Respected and beloved (among Democrats) former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was aghast at the torture being reported but he was also honest enough to say that releasing the report would ultimately hurt the USA.

Bill Richardson: Well, to the American people I’d say, we can’t keep doing this. Torture, this kind of interrogation is not the right way to get information. I think the main conclusion is that it produced no results. No, quote, actionable intelligence. But it is a sad day. First, what is very obvious is the bad blood between the Senate Intelligence Committee, the Democrat, Senator Feinstein, very respected and the CIA, John Brennan. They obviously have had difficulty.

Secondly, it is going to be damaging to U.S. prestige abroad, overseas. The world’s leading democracy torturing people. And third, the big danger is that in embassies like Syria, like Egypt, like Yemen and the Middle East, you know, it will inflame Pakistan, it will inflame demonstrators and our people hopefully will not be at risk but our installations might be. So, you know, it’s not a good day…

Well, the fact is that the president did authorize it. Now, the problem is the disclosure to the Congress. There are very few members of the Congress that would get this information. Disclosure has to be increased. There’s got to be some kind of approval by the Congress that involves this kind of operation. We have to develop that because the prestige America will suffer today from these disclosures is going to be huge. Not just in the Middle East, not just putting our installations at risk, but around the world.
