Glenn Beck had some very harsh words for the Republican Party on his radio show Wednesday, and I have a very hard time finding anything to disagree with in what he says.
“I’m out! I’m not a Republican. I will not give a dime to the Republican Party. I’m out! I highly recommend, RUN from the Republican Party. They are not good. And you see it now.
All this stuff that they ran and they said they were doing all these great things and they were going to stand against Obamacare and illegal immigration. They set us up. Enough is enough. They’re torpedoing the Constitution and they’re doing it knowingly.
They’re taking on people like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and they are torpedoing them, knowingly, and these guys are standing for the Constitution.
So I’m done with them.
Four years ago I wasn’t. Four years ago I said, ‘work from the inside’. Let’s change it, let’s get new guys in there.
I think it’s too late.”
I don’t always agree with Beck. But I am hard pressed to find anything wrong with what he is saying here. My favorite members of the GOP today are all guys who get attacked by other Republicans more than they get attacked by Democrats! Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, Ron DeSantis, Ted Yoho, Raul Labrador, Mick Mulvaney, Tim Huelskamp, Matt Salmon, David Schweikert and others. They get called “whacko birds,” they get attacked for being too “severe” and too “principled.”
Frankly, I’m tired of it too.
So, is Beck right? Is it time for conservatives to abandon the GOP? What do you think… and where would you go with your vote then?
