CNN Goes Islam: The Reza Aslan Show

Just how hostile and compromised is the media landscape? Look no further than the announcement of a new CNN show. CNN has hired academia’s Anwar Awlaki to host a show on dawah — Reza Aslan. Described this way, Aslan will “immerse himself into one of the world’s most fascinating faith-based groups to experience life as a true believer.” Sounds like a killer, literally.

Reza Aslan (more here and here) is the exemplar of the deceptive Islamic supremacist who is widely taken as a “moderate.” Robert Spencer writes here he is “thus a good illustration of how people can be taken in by such snake-oil peddlers.” He claims that “women enjoy complete equality in Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Turkey.” Yes, he is that kind of vicious liar — the bigger the better and has made his career on lying, defaming and libeling myself and my colleagues.

He has attacked Bill Maher (of course) and is notoriously anti-Israel (of course).

When a Muslim woman in California was honor murdered by her husband, Reza Aslan blamed me.

Reza Aslan’s ugly rape fantasies directed at me: “time to make some hate babies Pam”

These things don’t happen by accident or organically. It is deliberate. True subversives like Bill Ayers and jihadist enablers such as pro-nuclear Iran Khomeinists like Reza Aslan are warmly received on college campuses and given the utmost respect and deference. While my colleagues and I are banned.

Robert Spencer wrote a groundbreaking biography on Muhammad. It was banned by the media. Reza Aslan wrote a vicious biography on Jesus and the media and academia promoted it daily.

The deck is wildly stacked.

But it’s not just Reza. The increasingly more radical “mainstream media” is norming jihad and sharia while marginalizing patriotism, freedom and those who dare stand up for it.

Quite simply, we do not have a free press.

Spencer writes: “The pint-sized literary poseur Aslan is trying very hard to appear as a reasonable, fashionably liberal voice of Islam, but the deceptiveness of this is shown by the fact that he is a Board member of the National Iranian American Council, a group that genuine Iranian pro-democracy forces regard as an apologetic vehicle for the Islamic Republic of Iran. He has also called on the U.S. Government to negotiate not only with Ahmadinejad but with Hamas — that is, with some of the most barbaric and genocidally-inclined adherents of Sharia.”

“CNN Adds Reza Aslan, W. Kamau Bell to Cable Line Up,” Breitbart, March 11, 2015

In an effort to bring CNN back from the brink of failing ratings, the cable network has announced the debut of several new shows, including one hosted by religious writer Reza Aslan and another by comedian W. Kamau Bell.Reza Aslan is to host a show with the working title “Believer.” In a press release, CNN states that “Aslan will immerse himself into one of the world’s most fascinating faith-based groups to experience life as a true believer.”

Aslan will explore worship, rituals, and “unusual rites of passage” of various religions.

W. Kamau Bell, CNN says, will host “United Shades of America” where he will “explore the far corners of our country and its various groups and subcultures.”

Both hosts are highly controversial and combative.

Aslan, for one, has a long history of attacking Christians and Christianity. Late last year, for instance, he claimed that the Bible was full of “historical errors,” despite that he is not a historian or a biblical scholar.

But even as he has made a career of attacking Christians, Aslan does have support for one religion. As comedian Bill Maher has increased his verbal assault on IslamAslan has come to Islam’s support and said that Maher is engaging in “frank bigotry.”

In another case, Aslan claimed that Sam Harris’ criticism of Islam was paranoid, “uninformed,” and “unsophisticated.”

For his part, W. Kamu Bell has also engaged in controversial comments, though his focus has been his quest to decide who is and who is not a racist. Naturally, conservative whites are usually his target.

In fact, Bell has insisted that no white person is allowed to say what is racist and what isn’t, because only whites can be racist.

On his former, canceled cable show, “Totally Biased,” Bell even claimed that all Tea Partiers are racists.

Bell is also well known as being wholly and admittedly in the bag for Barack Obama.
