Stanford Prof. Deletes Data From Study Showing Green Energy Will Kill Jobs

A Stanford professor is deflecting criticism after allegedly deleting data from a year-old study in order to avoid inadvertently showing how green energy will kill millions of long-term jobs. Prof. Mark Jacobson rebuked criticisms brought by Steve Everley of Energy In Depth, an oil industry-backed education project, that the Stanford study showed that using 100 percent green energy would result in 1.2 million jobs being eliminated from the economy. Jacobson said Everley’s claim was a “flat Read more […]

County Clerk Defies Court Order and Refuses to Issue Marriage License

We all hope that the day does not come when we are faced with the choice of whether to obey the law of man or to obey God.  It would, I hope, be an easy choice even if it was not an easy situation.  It is one that I have been blessed to not have to face.  But a county clerk in Kentucky is facing just that situation. Christian News reports A county clerk in Kentucky, along with her office, is defying a court order to issue “marriage” licenses to homosexuals due to her Christian convictions Read more […]

Report Blames 1,000 Jobs Lost in Seattle on Minimum Wage

According to a report released Sunday by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), the $15 minimum wage has caused Seattle restaurants to lose 1,000 jobs — the worst decline since the 2009 Great Recession. “The loss of 1,000 restaurant jobs in May following the minimum wage increase in April was the largest one month job decline since a 1,300 drop in January 2009, again during the Great Recession,” AEI Scholar Mark J. Perry noted in the report. The citywide minimum wage increase was Read more […]

Fewer Americans Seeking Work than Any Time in Past 28 Years

This spring saw a smaller proportion of American adults employed or seeking work than at any time since 1977, according to a newly-released White House jobs report. Despite the 2009 recession being long over, millions of Americans are leaving the labor force and staying out, as though it never ended. The jobs report, released Thursday by the Department of Labor, shows the economy added an estimated 223,000 jobs in June, though this gain was partially offset by downward revisions for April and Read more […]

Unions Hate Fast-Track So Much, Even Worker Protections Are Worth Sacrificing

Unions are praising House Democrats for killing a program meant to help workers negatively impacted by international trade Friday in an effort to damage another measure that could grant President Barack Obama unilateral trade powers. “In rejecting the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) portion of the trade package this afternoon, a resounding bipartisan majority of lawmakers agreed that workers don’t want to be retrained for a new career,” Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa said in a statement. Disney Blacklisted Laid Off Workers Who Were Forced To Train Foreign Replacements

The American tech workers Disney laid off in January, after forcing them to train their foreign replacements, were put on a “black list” that disqualified them from hire by any contractor that works with Disney, emails obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation between one of the laid off workers and a recruiting firm show. The worker, who asked to remain anonymous because he is waiting on legal advice, learned of the black list when he sent his resume and performance review to a local IT recruiting Read more […]

Dirty Jobs’ Mike Rowe Fires Back at a Critic

I think that we have all grown to love Mike Rowe’s interactions with his fans (and non-fans) on social media. Rowe freely takes on hard questions (and some funny ones too) and responds in a humorous and winsome way to his detractors. In the latest example of one of these Facebook conversations, Rowe responds to an unhappy reader/viewer who wants the jovial TV host to know that not everyone has the work ethic that Mike describes. Mike’s response is nothing short of perfect and he printed it Read more […]

Shark Tank Investor Takes Down Obamanomics and Explains Real Economics to CNN

The very popular ABC (and CNBC’s) show, Shark Tank, brings budding inventors and entrepreneurs face to face with big money investors like Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary, giving these small time businesses a chance to finally realize their dreams of big money. The show was an instant hit because so many Americans could see themselves in the entrepreneurs, taking risks and going for broke, and we all want to imagine ourselves winning the same success. However, the real power behind the show comes Read more […]

Experts: White House Overtime Plan Spells Disaster

According to a new report from the National Retail Federation, a plan by President Barack Obama to revise federal overtime regulations could cause significant harm. “Overtime is a pretty simple idea: If you have to work more, you should get paid more,” the president said during a speech in March. “Unfortunately, today, millions of Americans aren’t getting the extra pay they deserve.” Obama pointed to the overtime threshold as a major problem when it comes to keeping many workers from receiving Read more […]

Disney Displaces Hundreds Of Floridians – Rubio Demands MORE Foreign Labor

Republican senator and presidential candidate Marco Rubio is backing a bill that would triple the number of guest workers businesses could hire every year, after hundreds of workers in his state were fired and literally replaced by foreign guest workers. Disney, Southern California Edison and most recently Fossil Group have together fired hundreds of American tech workers and forced them to train their foreign replacements, many of whom were flown in specifically to take their job. “You had Read more […]

The Democrats Tell Obama No on Fast Track

The news that the Democrats had not towed the line for the president comes as a surprise to some.  But I had reported several weeks ago that this defeat was imminent.  Democrats, who have long been pro-labor, see the Fast-Track legislation to be pro-business.  The President is in a weird position.  He is faced with the possibility that Warren and the far-left progressives will be able to hold out.  Such an outcome would cause Obama to miss on any trade deals before he leaves office.  This means Read more […]

Obama Tries to Defend Obamacare with SHAM Unemployment Numbers

In kind of a disgusting attempt at misleading the nation (again), President Obama tried his dead-level best to make the case that Obamacare was a success because the unemployment rate continues to drop. The problem with this argument is that Obama’s defense has already been proven wrong – several different times, in fact – yet, the fact that he knows his argument to be invalid doesn’t stop the President from trying.   Here are just a few resources on why Obama’s argument is Read more […]

Obama Tries To Win Over Unions on Secret Trans-Pacific Partnership

In a speech Friday, President Barack Obama appealed to unions which have been adamantly opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership. “So when you look at a country like Vietnam, under this agreement, Vietnam would actually, for the first time, have to raise its labor standards,” the president declared in front of a crowd at a Nike plant in Oregon. “It would have to set a minimum wage. It would have to pass safe workplace laws to protect its workers.” Despite agreeing on many policy areas, unions Read more […]

Will Huckabee Be The Only Anti-Trans-Pacific Partnership Presidential Candidate?

Mike Huckabee, former Republican governor of Arkansas, is jumping into a crowded race for President. Though Huckabee has been criticized for his fiscal liberalism and social conservatism, he should be given his credit for speaking openly against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) a.k.a “ObamaTrade.” “If it’s not fair trade,” Huckabee said, “it’s not free trade.” Apparently Huckabee is the only Republican who understands the TPP and the dangers of giving President Obama fast track authority. Curtis Read more […]
