California Shooters May Have Radical Islamic Links

Though there is still no real clear facts on the reason behind the mass shooting in San Bernardino Yesterday, there is beginning to be some speculation. It was first believed to be strictly work related. This would have made the most sense, being that the people targeted were coworkers of the shooter. But then there is the Islamic link. Now we are left to wonder what this couple was seeking to accomplish.

The New York Times reports

While investigators were still searching for a motive, a picture began to emerge of how the couple had hidden their plan even from close relatives. To some, they appeared steeped in the usual routines of work and parenthood. For instance, they had registered online for gifts for their newborn, including a car seat and diapers.

Mr. Farook and Ms. Malik met on a dating website, according to Mr. Farook’s brother-in-law, Farhan Khan. He said that Mr. Farook had traveled to Saudi Arabia at least two times: first to meet Ms. Malik’s family and then to marry her.

Ms. Malik was born in Pakistan and had been living with her family in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Khan said.

And this is where the puzzlement comes in for us as we look at the event. Why, if it was merely workplace rage, would he go home and retrieve his wife? Why the ruse with his mother over their daughter? It seems very unlikely that this couple would have gone to these extremes on the spur of the moment.

Would they not have calmed down?  Would they have talked each other out of it?

The Jerusalem Post reports

couple accused of killing 14 people at a holiday party in Southern California had more than 6,000 rounds of ammunition and a dozen pipe bombs on them and elsewhere, authorities said on Thursday as they sought to determine if the pair had links to Islamic militant groups.

Now, let’s be clear. I am not a pipe bomb maker. I have never seen one in person and have never thought about putting one together. But, I do not imagine that this couple would have had time to put these devices together. Even if they were experts and had done this several hundred times, it is very unlikely that they could have gotten this done.

So, for the work rage scenario to work, he would have had to be already mad enough about the situation to get Malik involved. They would have had to already buy the weapons and materials and made the bombs.  This seems unlikely.

But as normal, the Left is seeking to direct the narrative. They want this to be about guns and not about Muslims.

11:41 a.m.: Democrats continue to make gun control the focus of their response to the terror attack in San Bernadino.

The White House is calling for a new assault weapons ban, Charlie Spiering notes. Presidential contender

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is calling for “universal background checks,” Patrick Howley reports. And Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is even claiming that there is a “terrorist loophole” in gun laws that Republicans won’t close, as Caroline May reports.

The Left wants to use this event to push their controlling agenda.

Breitbart elsewhere reports

None of these things prevented the attack the attack from occurring.

California has expanded background checks, which means they require a background check on every sale–retail or private. These are the very checks that President Obama, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Democrat surrogates like Gabby Giffords, Mark Kelly, Shannon Watts, and others are pushing at the federal level on the false premise of keeping Americans safe. They are the same checks that Colorado enacted after the heinous December 2012 attack on Sandy Hook Elementary, under the illusion that such checks would prevent a high profile public attack.

Though this couple may have had no contact with terrorists, there seems that there was nothing to do with gun laws that would have prevented this from occurring.
