California Bill Goes After Crisis Pregnancy Centers

When you cannot win an argument based on the facts, the best tactic is to silence your opponents.  When they are not allowed to speak, or you can determine what the message will be, then there is a chance that you can win.  This is what Liberals have been doing for the last several decades.  If you are an atheist, then simply make it illegal to speak about God.  If you are a sodomite, simply make everyone feign joy that you are out.  If you want to see more murdered babies, make Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPC) advertise free abortions.

Christian News reports

The California Assembly voted Tuesday to advance a bill that would require pregnancy centers to inform all clients that they can obtain an abortion at state-funded facilities.

What they do not like is that these CPC do not support abortion.  There seems to be some success in these centers deterring pregnant mothers from killing their children.  This has these politicians panicking.  They must find a way to reverse the trend.  After all, we cannot have people knowing that abortion is murder.

This seems to be clear in the bill’s language

“The author contends that, unfortunately, there are nearly 200 licensed and unlicensed clinics known as crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) in California whose goal is to interfere with women’s ability to be fully informed and exercise their reproductive rights, and that CPCs pose as full-service women’s health clinics, but aim to discourage and prevent women from seeking abortions,” it reads.

The liberals again plays with language.  Because the CPC’s claim to be full-service health care providers, but do not provide information about referral to abortions, they are misleading.  This would be understandable if we know the reason.  The reason the CPC does not provide this to those women who seek their services is that they believe that abortion is wrong.

Jim Patterson (R Fresno) is clear as to why this cannot be allowed to stand in our country.

“It is an effort to force objectionable, state-mandated speech on pro-life pregnancy care centers which have freely formed in order to compassionately present alternative views—views which are rightly protected by the Constitution,” he said. “To force these centers to post and to distribute how to obtain free abortions cuts to the core of their founding purpose and their reason for being.”

“Two of my adopted children and all three of my grandchildren are the living witnesses of the profound and life-affirming options these centers provide,” Patterson continued. “Privately-funded pregnancy resource centers, and the compassionate people who volunteer at them, have a First Amendment right to freedom of speech. And it is our duty as officers of the state of California to protect that right, not to assault it.”

We have to see what this really is, if we are going to discuss and handle it correctly.  Even if you are not in full agreement with a Pro-Life stance.  To make it mandatory to tell others about a program or service that a person feels is wrong is a violation of his first amendment rights.  When we stop people from speaking out, or if we make them say something they disagree with, we are destroying not only that person’s freedom but our own.

Hopefully, God will cause even those who are pro-abortion to see the danger in this bill.
