When we look at the things the Left in America are trying to get our country to do in many areas, a pattern emerges. There is the issue with the illegal immigrants. The Left wants to virtually open our border with Mexico. The Left also wishes to have us accept Syrian refugees, forgetting the fact that there is no real way to vet them. The Left wants us to continue to bail out irresponsible businesses and banks. This is the Left seeking to make us into Europe.
So, it should not be surprise that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel was chosen by the Left-leaning Times Magazine as their person of the year.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been named Time Magazine‘s person of the year for 2015.
The choice is bound to cause controversy, given the German Chancellor’s decision to open her country’s borders to Syrian migrants, thus exacerbating the continent’s migrant crisis.
Germany has taken more migrants than any other nation, but Mrs Merkel has said she sees it as her country’s duty to help those seeking asylum.
There will be some that do not like this choice by the Magazine. Many, as Breitbart has, will point out her mishandling of the Migrant Crisis, but that is one of the reasons given for her being chosen.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports
In a statement explaining the magazine’s choice, Managing Editor Nancy Gibbs said despite crises in the region that caused “reason to wonder whether Europe could continue to exist”, Merkel, 61, emerged as an “indispensable player”.
“For asking more of her country than most politicians would dare, for standing firm against tyranny as well as expedience and for providing steadfast moral leadership in a world where it is in short supply, Angela Merkel is Time’s Person of the Year,” Gibbs wrote.
“Merkel had already emerged as the indispensable player in managing Europe’s serial debt crises; she also led the West’s response to Vladimir Putin’s creeping theft of Ukraine,” Gibbs said.
“The prospect of Greek bankruptcy threatened the very existence of the euro zone. The migrant and refugee crisis challenged the principle of open borders. And finally, the carnage in Paris revived the reflex to slam doors, build walls and trust no one.”
But many continue to cling to their common sense as if everyone has the same common sense. They fail to understand that it is “Utopia” that Europe is striving for. And many in Europe thinks it is still within reach. And Merkel is one of its leading apologists. The reason that Merkel has led as she has this year is because everyone else has been seeking to wake from this false idea of Liberal egalitarianism.
This idea that if everyone has the same things and the same amount of those thing, then no one will commit evil acts. No one will murder since there is nothing for which to be envious of if you have the same as your neighbor. Now Greece is once again bailed out on the backs of German workers. And to add to this, there are now thousands of new mouths to feed in Germany itself. But none has said it better than Merkel’s biggest detractor.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has consistently criticised the German government’s handling of the migrant crisis, saying it has only made things worse.
In October, Mr Orban said Europe was in “deep trouble” due to Mrs Merkel’s policies.
“This is an uncontrolled and unregulated process,” he said, adding that it poses a direct threat to democracy because governments did not “get authorisation from (citizens) for millions to walk into our continent.”
Well, if no one else agrees with Times, the migrants do. They simply love Merkel.
